Repentance Sharing time

The stairs are boxes of different sizes with tablecloths covering them.
This is Bearry. (have the children look for a second) Is there something the matter with Bearry? Yeah, he is covered in red spots. Hmmm. Can our primary help him with getting rid of these spots? Hey, maybe my sharing time will help.

3Nephi 27: 20 Now this is the commandment: Repent, all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day.

Bearry, as you are preparing to be baptized, have you done things wrong or sinned? (bear nods) Oh I see now, you have sinned and need to become worthy to be baptized and stay worthy to enter the holy temple!!!! You need to learn about repentance. Great I think our Primary can teach you and help you get rid of those spots.

Let’s teach him the steps of repentance first. The first step(put red spot next to first stair) is that realizing that you did something wrong. Have child put up the second step next to the stair. “I confess or tell what you did wrong to the person you did it to and promise not to do it again” #3- “I will right the wrong or try and fix it and apologize or say sorry to that person.” #4- Pray to Heavenly Father and ask for forgiveness or give a feeling that it’s okay. #5- Promise to be good(live commandments) and find joy #6- Forgive yourself and as it says in Mormon 9:6… “in the name of Jesus, that perhaps ye may be found spotless, pure, fair and white, having cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, at that great and last day.” (Show picture of Christ's atonement), http://ldstalk.com/wp-content/images/mormon-jesus-christ/mormon-jesus-gethsemane.jpg Through Jesus Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, it made it possible for us to have these steps of repentence and be forgiven for the sins we make.

Let’s work on some of those spots. We will select a spot that has a sin that Bearry needs to repent of and try and help him be forgiven for that wrongdoing.

Have a child choose a spot to work on.  then pull the picture off the board that matches that spot and tell quick story of wrongdoing. Then go through the steps of repentance until clean and then remove the spot. Continue with other spots.
