My Life has a Plan clipart(girl with chalkboard) is from Friend, March 2008
From March 1994 Friend, “The Plan of Salvation Offers Me Peace” by Judy Edwards
“Where did you come from? Why are you here on earth? Where will you go when your life on earth is over? Heavenly Father answered these questions when He gave us the plan of salvation—His plan for His children:”
We are going to play a game that helps us review this great plan of happiness that Heavenly Father has given us to help us get back to Him. We will start in Premortal life and travel the path to the different stages of the Plan of Salvation. Each time we get to a stage we will see if you can answer some questions. We get them right, we keep moving through the plan.
PREMORTAL LIFE( BLUE Questions) clipart used from Primary Partners- Sharing time Treasures “I am a Child of God” lesson 3, 2007 by Mary H. Ross and Jennette Guymon-King. Premortal picture- mine was from p. 14 of , http://lds.org/churchmagazines/FR_2010_01_00___09261_000_000.pdf could use this one http://www.moroni10.com/Mormon/Bible_References/Council_in_Heaven.jpg
Listen to the explanation so that you can answer the questions easier-
A long time ago, before we were born we lived with our Heavenly Father as spirits. This is called our premortal life. We were able to come to earth because we all chose Heavenly father’s plan. This plan allowed us to make our own choices and included a Savior to allow us to repent for our mistakes. Lucifer or Satan had another plan that didn’t allow us to make our own choices. Those(1/3) that followed Satan’s plan were cast out and didn’t get to come to earth.
Questions for Premortal life in a labeled bag
**Did we have a body of flesh and bones here?
**What was Heavenly Father’s plan?
**Whose plan did we chose to follow?
**What was Satan’s plan? How many followed his plan?

(Read as the marker is placed on “birth”)
So all of experienced birth because we chose Heavenly father’s plan. We had a spirit in the premortal life but needed a body. Birth allowed us to receive that body. A veil was put over our eyes so we couldn’t remember our premortal life.
Questions for “Birth” question rest stop in a labeled bag
**Why did we need to be born?
**Why don’t we remember our premortal life?
**Why were we able to experience birth?

So we were placed on this beautiful place called earth. Jesus Christ under the direction of Heavenly father created the Earth and all things on it. SPIRIT WORLD(RED questions) clip art for question rest stop from Primary Partners- Sharing time Treasures “I am a Child of God” lesson 3, 2007 by Mary H. Ross and Jennette Guymon-King
(Read as land on “Spirit World” question rest stop)
Our spirit body enters the spirit world. Even though our physical body is lifeless, our spirit lives on. There are two parts in the spirit world, paradise and spirit prison. Those that accepted the gospel and followed the commandments go to paradise and be able to have peace and continue learning and teaching others. Those that didn’t have the chance to hear the gospel or didn’t keep the commandments go to spirit prison. Those that accept the gospel after they are taught will live with the righteous in paradise. Those that have not repented of their sins will have to pay for their sins as Jesus paid for ours. Spirit Prison will not be a fun place for the wicked.
Questions for “Spirit World” question rest stop
**Name the two parts of the Spirit World?
**Where do those that didn’t hear the gospel on earth go?
**Do we have bodies in the spirit world?

(Read as you put marker on “resurrection” question rest stop)
Because Jesus was resurrected, all that have lived or will live on the earth will be resurrected. He died that we may live again. Every spirit will be reunited with its mortal body. Our bodies will be perfect and will not be able to die, get sick, feel pain or age. Even animals will be resurrected to their perfect form. Satan will not be resurrected because he never received a body of flesh and bones.
Questions for Resurrection question rest stop-
**Who will be resurrected?
**What happens to our spirit at the resurrection?
**Who made it possible for us to be resurrected?
**What will our bodies be like when we are resurrected?
FINAL JUDGMENT clipart for “final judgment”question rest stop from
Primary Partners- Sharing time Treasures “I am a Child of God” lesson 3, 2007 by Mary H. Ross and Jennette Guymon-King
We will have a final judgment to determine which heaven we will get to live in. The righteous and the wicked will be judged. We will be judged on the things we did on earth. Whether or not we kept the commandments, how we treated others, how well we followed the gospel.
Questions for “Final judgment” in labeled bag
**Who might be someone that judges us?
**Only the righteous will be judged? True or false?
**Name something you might be asked at final judgement?
**Why do we need to be judged?
Now depending on our works on earth, it will determine which path we get to take next and which kingdom of heaven we get to live in. There are three, but one is the best.(Move children marker to Celestial kingdom.)
CELESTIAL KINGDOM(pictures used- Celestial kingdom, terrestrial and telestial kingdom clipart from Primary Partners- Sharing time Treasures “I am a Child of God” lesson 3, 2007 by Mary H. Could use this friend resource if you don’t have access to her great resource- http://lds.org/friend/print/2008/01/my-life-is-a-gift-my-life-has-a-plan?lang=eng&clang=eng
(Read after placing marker on celestial kingdom)
The Celestial Kingdom is the highest degree of heaven. Everyone has the opportunity to attain this heaven whether in this life or in the spirit world. Qualifications for this heaven are: Follow Christ, Keep Commandments, Repent of Sins, Baptism and received Holy Ghost, Make Temple Covenants. The celestial kingdom is the eternal home of Heavenly Father and Jesus. The Celestial kingdom will have the brightness of the sun. The lesser degrees of heaven are called the Terrestial and Telestial kingdom.
Questions for Celestial kingdom question final stop-
**The celestial kingdom has the brightness of the moon. True or false?
**Which kingdom will Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live?
**The Telestial kingdom is the highest heaven?
**What are three qualifications for the celestial kingdom?
(Not all the questions need to be read, but just had some so that the kids felt like they were choosing a question. Also, the question “feet” colors match the footprint colors on the gameboard path, just so it was easier for me to get the correct questions back in the bag to get ready to repeat for Senior sharing time. The colors don't have to be the same ones.)
I hope we will all follow Heavenly Father's plan back to live with Him again. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
Thank you for the wonderful ideas. I look forward to seeing what creative ways you find teaching the gospel principles. You make my calling a lot easier!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU! I have been racking my brain for what to do this week! Great ideas here!!

ReplyDeleteI just moved from one part of the plan to the next because I wanted to get to the celestial kingdom end. For lack of confusion, I didn't roll a die because you HAD to stop at each stage. Can't skip death stage(well, unless you are one of three special nephites), and didn't serve real purpose. I believe I had the kids stomp their feet as the marker was moved. I don't remember it being an issue for the kids, they were still engaged:)
ReplyDeleteThank you I am going to make it a little different I am using your questions but breaking up the kids into groups and having them drawn pictures to so each one, we have a smaller primary and combine sr/jr for sharing time. I am so grateful you posted this Thanks
ReplyDeletegreat ideas! I used a modified version for our Jr/Sr Sharing time with the music combined and we had an engaging time. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to doing this on Sunday! I'm wondering about the links you posted to the Friend magazine. When I search for those I can only find the article and the image doesn't display. Do you by chance know how I can find the images to the articles? Thank you for posting this!!
